The oldest Christmas carols we have are the four recorded by Luke in his nativity story.
As if in a musical, the main characters burst into songs of praise for what God is doing and will do through the newborn Messiah. This Christmas, reflect on the profound poems
of Zechariah (Benedictus), Mary (Magnificat), the Angels (Gloria), and Simeon (Nunc Dimittis) found in chapters 1 and 2 of Luke’s Gospel. Luke’s Songs of Christmas presents these four Nativity songs with background, lessons, and application, leading you back to the heart of Christmas from Scripture’s original carols.
