Genesis 3:15 has been called the summation of the Bible story. It encapsulates the need of humanity and the promise of redemption. In today’s message, Dr. John preaches from this verse as a Christmas text. At humanity’s first failure, God promises to send a Redeemer who will rescue us from the power and penalty of sin. It is an introduction to Advent. We wait for the fulfillment of God’s promise. Bethlehem declares that the longings of God’s people will never be disappointed; not in the past, present or future.
